What is Owed?
Revenue recovery software for behavioral-health practices. Owed reads the 835 remittances your payers send, checks every line against your contracts, and lists what's still owed, with the evidence.
What is an 835 (ERA) file?
The electronic remittance advice payers send with each payment: every claim line, what was allowed and paid, and the reason codes for any difference. Your clearinghouse or billing system can export them.
How does Owed find underpayments?
For each line, Owed looks up your contracted rate for that payer, code and clinician and compares it with what was allowed. It also flags fixable denials, recoupments, missing prompt-pay interest and rates that dropped.
Does Owed use AI to decide what's owed?
No. Deterministic rules decide, and the same file always gives the same findings. Every finding shows the math.
Is Owed HIPAA compliant?
Owed is built as a HIPAA business associate. We sign a BAA before any patient data is shared, encrypt everything in transit and at rest, require MFA, and audit every access. There is no official HIPAA certification.
